Privacy Policy

Gen Wealth Builder ("we," "us") is a budgeting and savings-planning product. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what rights you have over it. We wrote it in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, email us at support@genwealthbuilder.app and we'll clarify.

What we collect

We collect only what the product needs to work:

• Account information: your email address and password. Your password is never stored in readable form — our authentication provider (Supabase) stores only a salted hash of it.
• Financial data you enter yourself: transactions (date, type, amount, category, an optional note), budget amounts, savings goals, and recurring bill/income reminders. You type this in by hand or upload it via CSV — Gen Wealth Builder does not connect to your bank account and cannot read your bank or card data directly.
• Preferences: which mode (Personal or Business) you're using, and, for Business mode, your chosen tax set-aside percentage.
• Basic technical data: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

Strictly to run the product: to show you your own transactions, budgets, and goals; to calculate the numbers on your Dashboard, Budget, and Tax Set-Aside pages; to send you the account emails Supabase handles on our behalf (sign-up confirmation, password reset); and to respond when you email support. We do not use your financial data to train any model, and we do not show you ads.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, to anyone, ever. A small number of infrastructure providers process data on our behalf, strictly to operate the service:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and access is restricted at the database level so that your records are only ever reachable by your own account.
• Vercel — hosts the application itself.

If we ever introduce paid subscriptions, a payment processor (for example, Stripe) would handle your card details directly — we would never see or store your full card number. If we ever introduce live bank connections in a future version, that would go through a licensed provider (for example, Plaid), never a form we built ourselves, and we'd update this policy before turning it on.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you want your account and data deleted, email support@genwealthbuilder.app from the address on the account and we will delete it, typically within 30 days, except where we're required to keep limited records for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your rights

Regardless of where you're located, we extend the following rights to every user: the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to export it (you can already do this yourself via the CSV/PDF export in Budget), to request deletion, and to object to how we use it. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, Nigeria, or a US state with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights under GDPR, the Nigeria Data Protection Act, or your state's law, respectively — contact us and we'll honor whichever framework applies to you.

Security

Every page is served over HTTPS. Your data is isolated at the database level — even we, as the operators, access it only through the same access-controlled paths your account does, not a shared pool. We do not store any secrets or API keys in our application code.

Children

Gen Wealth Builder is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, email account holders directly.
